General decoration:The text opens on f. 1r with a puzzle initial (height: 9 lines) in red and blue, with the flourishing extending into the margin. Smaller puzzle initials (height: 4 lines) are present on ff. 46v and 219r. Laisses are marked by plain red initials (height: 2 lines). Red ink is also used to highlight majuscules and for line-fillers.
Evidence of readership:Pen trials in the margins of several folios, e.g. f. 35r. On f. 240r, in a 15th-c. hand, a note addressed to a certain Huet from Colin Baillet of Montargis. On f. 240v: moralising verses.
Foliations description:Arabic numerals in black ink in the upper right corner of recto sides.

Scribe description:A neat northern bookhand displaying the following traits: 2-compartment 'a' (upper bow open or closed); ascenders adorned with bars or serifs; 'g' with an angular lower lobe; use of 'i' and 'j' with ticks to distinguish multiple minims; tall, round and trailing 's' all found in final position; both 'u' and 'v' employed in initial position; tironian 'et' with (and occasionally without) a bar.
NotesHalf-way down f. 8r, the script becomes notably smaller, but may still be attributed to the same hand. This hand also responsible for ff. 174v-176r.
