A number of folios have been patched and restored at the same time, and additional text has been copied by a 14th c. hand (e.g. f. 25, 94 and 150). |

| Date notes | Based on the script. Northern textualis with double-compartment 'a', the upper compartment of which can be open or closed. Round 's' (8-like) or straight 's' in final position. The preference for round 's' in final position may suggest a date towards the middle or in the second half of the century. |
| Place(s) of production | East FranceHannah and Turville-Petre 2010, 95-98 note that the linguistic colouring of this part of the manuscript is Eastern French (Walloon) rather than the usual Picard forms occurring throughout the rest of the manuscript. Possibly this is due to the use of an exemplar of the 'Roman de Troie' different from the one used by the original scribes. Otherwise, it may point to the dialect of the 14th c. scribe and give an indication as to the whereabouts of the manuscript at the time. The script, has, however, the distinct 'v'-shaped 'r', extending below the baseline, which is typical of insular hands. Possibly, the manuscript was in England when these additional folios were inserted? |
