| General illustration: | Images develop across the page, in most cases interrupting the two columns and consist of drawings in pencil coloured in blue-green, red, orange, pink, gold and silver. The use of colours does not cover the whole surface, but highlights a few elements, especially armours, clothing and the few elements of the landscape, trees or building, while the background is usually left blank. This is a typical feature of a group of MSS studied by Toesca, Loomis-Loomis, Perriccioli Saggese, Avril-Gousset (see esp. Cigni 1993). For a list of the images in this MS, see Bisson 2008, 46-7. In some instances it is possible to read the instructions for the illustrator (cf.
