Physical description

No. of illustrations:20
General illustration:Images develop across the page, in most cases interrupting the two columns and consist of drawings in pencil coloured in blue-green, red, orange, pink, gold and silver. The use of colours does not cover the whole surface, but highlights a few elements, especially armours, clothing and the few elements of the landscape, trees or building, while the background is usually left blank. This is a typical feature of a group of MSS studied by Toesca, Loomis-Loomis, Perriccioli Saggese, Avril-Gousset (see esp. Cigni 1993). For a list of the images in this MS, see Bisson 2008, 46-7. In some instances it is possible to read the instructions for the illustrator (cf. Benedetti 1990): f. 2r "una reina [...]"; f. 4r "uno reio (et) ch(eualie)r a taula"; f. 6r "uno reio (et) M(ou)lt ch(eualie)rs armati (et) uno ch(eualie)r denansi loreio", etc.
General decoration:One framed decorated initial (f. 40vb, 8 ll. high), pink on blue-green ground with floral motifs. Small chapter initials (3 ll. high), alternatively red and blue. It is mainly on the basis of the pen-work that Avril - Gousset 1984, 25-26 suggested to locate the MS in Genoa. Cf also Cigni 1993, part. pp. 426-7.
Evidence of readership:Marginal corrections, e.g. f. 13r.
Foliations description:19th c. foliation, in arabic numerals, in the upper right corner of the recto.
