Condition:Rather thick and rigid vellum, worn in several places. There are sewn tears (e.g. ff. 48, 100, 103, etc.), and holes within the writing space avoided by the scribe (e.g. ff. 49ra and 49vb) as well as outside the writing space (e.g. one at f. 59 and two at f. 99). The lower outer corner is missing from the final four folios, and the third and fourth from the end have been trimmed along a curve, cutting off a portion of column b of the recto and a of the verso.

General illustration:Bas-de-page illustrations, unframed and without decorative backgrounds. Human figures, natural elements (trees, etc.), buildings (towers, castles, etc.) in bright and thick colours, according to the typical style of the 'atelier pisano-genovese'. On f. 51r, a note for the illustrator?
General decoration:Large historiated initials (height: c. 10 lines) on ff. 1ra, 70va, 95ra, and 109ra, accompanied by rubrics, framed in green and with gilded background, featuring figures (e.g. a crowned figure in red clothing with sceptre on f. 1ra; a knight with a silvery shield riding a horse on f. 95ra). Large decorated initials (height: 6 to 10 lines) on ff. 34ra, 60ra, 109va, etc., in bright and thick colours, framed in green on gilded and blue grounds, with white filigree. Chapter initials (height: 3 lines), red and blue, alternating irregularly. Folios 15v-16r provide a good example of the decoration in the MS.
Evidence of readership:On f. 23r, under the writing space, some scribbles. On ff. 48rb, 56rb, and 84rb, a cross next to the column. On f. 120v, ownership mark? MC / Madanselle Cremi.
