| Condition: | Lower quality vellum: large hole f. 38Heavily worn. f. 35 is torn at the bottom, f. 36 is torn at the side, the outer column of f. 41 has been cut off, as has about three quarters of ff. 45 and 46. Between f. 49 and f. 50 a folio has been torn out. f. 53 to f. 55 are ratty, the bottom of f. 56 has been cut, of f. 60 only the written area has survived. |

| Quire structure: | Between f. 24 (Part 1, foliated xl) and f. 37 (Part 2, foliated lx) six folios have been lost. Given that the final quire of Part 1 is a bifolium, these page probably belonged to this quire, of which the extant two page possibly formed the outer bifolium. That the final page does not have a quire mark suggests that in the original manuscript nothing followed. The first quire of Part 2 [f. 35 to 42] is a quaternion. Of the second quire, the final page (following 49) has been cut. Between f. 37 (quire two, foliated lx) . and f. 47 (quire two, foliated lxx) Between f. 47 (quire two, folio lxx) and f.52 (quire 4, foliated iiiixx) five folios have been lost. Thus third and probably also the fourth quire are probably defective. These are both bifolio. At the end of quire 3 f. 51 does not have a catchword. f. 53 at the end of quire four does. Given that the final quire is a full quaternion and correctly follows the catchword on f. 53v. one would expect folio number xc on a folio in the final quire. Given that this not the case one has to assume that quire four is complete. Given that f. 61v has a catchword it is quite certain that one or more quires have been lost at the end of the manuscript. |
