Physical description

General description:There are only a few marginal and interlinear corrections by principal hand. At f. 64ra, under the last line of the column, the copyist notes "Ci ma(n)che". 64va: A later end integrated the last line with the words "ch(evalie)r preux (et) hardi". 46v-48v: A third hand wrote some notes under the b column of the following folios: f. 46v "volta il foglio (et) [??]"; f. 47v "ritorna onde dici gueres"; f. 48v "volta il folio e trouerai ch(valier)s".
General illustration:The whole manuscript has been illustrated by one of the finest lombard artist, the "Master of Guiron le Courtois", cf. part. Toesca 1912, 162-3; Lauby 2000; Avril - Gousset 2005, 60-5 (with a list of the illustrations and their contents); Molteni 2014.

Mise en page

Description 1In general, the original ruling consisted of 39 lines for each column and the lines did not cross the intercolumn. However, the copyist usually filled only 37 lines in pages without illustrations (e.g. f. 5r and v, 13v etc.) and 37 or less in pages with illustrations. In some cases, the ruled space is still visible inside the frame of the illustration.
