| Watermark: | Good examples at f. 11-15-17. This watermark, letter 'P' with forked shaft and a four-leafed clover on top (height: 80 mm; width 16 mm; distance between chainlines 38 mm) resembles but is not identical to the numbers 112017 and 112029 in the Piccard database. These watermarks are dated to the 1460s and appear in paper used in Arnhem and Ensisheim. Similar motifs appear to have been very popular in Germany in the 1480s. |
| Condition: | The first quire (originally consisting of twelve folios) is made up of vellum. The rest of the manuscript consists of paper. Many of the folios have been severely damaged and repaired to various degrees of success. Not taking into account the portion of text lost at the end of the manuscript, approximately thirty folios have been lost. Six folios before the beginning, some eleven folios in the first four quires and almost the entire quire 'G' (f. IIII(XX)IIII to IIII(XX)XIIII). |
