Date notes'Sec. XIII (inizio)' (Cipriani 1968, 27; cf. Jordan & Wool 1986, II:174, and Jung 1996, 113). Constans considered it earlier: 'probablement des dernières années du XIIe siècle' (1912, VI:1, cf. Martorano 2004, 411); and Gengaro & Villa Guglielmetti later: 'sec. XIII fine' (1968, 119).
Place(s) of productionVeneto
'Scuola veneta, di ispirazione francese' (Cipriani 1968, 27; cf. Jung 1996, 113). 'Venice, Central Italy (?)' (Jordan & Wool 1986, II:174). For Folena, the MS was copied in the Eastern Mediterranean (1990, 273). On the basis of the scripta, Wunderli concluded that the scribe was Anglo-Norman, or was copying from an Insular exemplar: 'die anglonormannische Züge sind doch noch so stark, daß die in England entstandene Kopie in der Filiationsreihe nicht weit zurückliegen kann und wohl mindestens die direkte Vorlage für unser Manuskript gebildet haben dürfte' (1968, 49).
