Table of contents | Table of contents on ff. 1r to 10v. The table is preceded by an individual prologue. The table divides the text in ‘quinze liures de cest p(rese)nt uolume’, each subdivided in ‘chapitres’. Each liure is indicated by a blue initial (height: 2 lines), each chapitre with a blue initial (height: 1 line). Chapter numbers after the titulus. On ff. 8v-10v, the decoration has not been completed. Although the table of contents follows the division of the Histoire ancienne closely, it appears as though the text in this MS might have been subject to rewrite. Throughout the text chapters have been added (e.g. an additional chapter on the rise of Rome, next to the original Histoire ancienne one). A more thorough investigation of this copy may reveal additional adaptations (e.g. paragraphs on the Thessalian flood, the fable of Daedalus). |
