General illustration:Between ff. 12v and 141r, there are 42 bas-de-page ink drawings, with some use of colour. Instructions to the artist in brown ink are sometimes in French, sometimes in Italian. See Degenhart 1980, 233-7, Avril & Gousset 1984, 50, and Jung 1996, 497-8 for further details.
General decoration:Chapters are marked by large puzzle initials. Paragraphs, meanwhile, open with plain initials (height: 2 lines), alternating red and blue.
Evidence of readership:Unidentified shields at the base of f. 1v. The illustration at the base of f. 44v was added later (in the 14th c.?). Pen trials on f. 129r. Name of 'iehan de Saint Oien sire de...' on f. 149v.
Foliations description:The medieval foliation runs from 1 to 148. The modern foliation, which includes the guardleaves, runs from 1 to 152.
