Bindings
Description: | These are three fragments of the same manuscript of the 'Prose Tristan' (f. 6-7-8) pasted in a large notebook comprising other fragments among which a receipt of Dino Rapondi (22 April 1378, to buy drape to cover the binding of a number of manuscripts, f. 2); a life of Elisabeth of Hungary (f. 10, beginning of the 14th c.); a Bible Historiale (f. 12, 14th c.); 12 folios of a French-Latin lexicon (Aalma, ff. 14-24, 15th c.); 44 folios (some of which are mutilated) featuring 'Ponthus et Sidoine' (ff. 27-70, 15th c.). The binding is cardboard with a leather spine. |

Condition: | Three fragments of the same manuscript. Fragment 1 (f. 6) seems to have preserved the full height of the page and in any event has the full height of the text-column (ra; vb). On either side about 1/3 or 1/4 of the lines have been trimmed. Fragment 2 (f. 7) has preserved the width of both text columns, but has only the last six/seven lines of the folio. Fragment 3 (f. 8) preserves the border of the folio, along with the first/last words of the first 24 lines of column ra and vb of the folio. |

Scribe description: | Two very similar hands (f. 6 and ff. 7-8). Textualis with double-compartment 'a' the upper compartment of which is open. Round 's' and occasionally also straight 's' are used in final position. Use of 'v' in initial position. 'b', 'h' and 'l' have clubbed or forked ascenders. The ascender of 'd' is long and slanted (not horizontal). Tongued 'e'. Use of 'i'-longa in initial position and after minims. Abbreviations include uncrossed (z-like) tironian 'et', nasal bar for 'q(ue)' and 'p' with crossed ascender. |
