Physical description

No. of illustrations:25
General illustration:25 historiated initials (height: 6 to 8 lines). For further details, see Jung 1996, 470-1.
General decoration:The frame of the historiated initials extends to form borders. The one on f. 1r supports faded figures in the lower margin, including knights. Paragraphs generally begin with champie initials in gold. Between ff. 17r and 32v, and ff. 41r and 48 (i.e. quires 3, 4, 6), champie and pen-flourished initials alternate. The minor initials are two lines in height for the introduction, and three lines thereafter.
Evidence of readership:At the base of f. 28v: 'iste liber / est mey p / hilipon dek'. A later hand has re-traced the faded text at the base of the a-column on f. 73r. Pen trials on f. 142v (mostly I Corinthians 15:9).
Foliations description:Modern foliation in the upper right-hand corner of recto sides.
