General illustration:The illustration is attributed to Évrard d'Espinques. There are frontispieces marking the beginning of Books 1 and 3 (ff. 1r and 561r), and a single miniature across both columns on f. 60r. The remaining 113 miniatures span the width of a single column. For further details, see Avril 1993 and Delcourt 2009.
General decoration:Chapters are marked by large initials (height: 3 to 7 lines) against gold grounds, with foliate or geometric infill, and partial bar borders with marginal floral decoration. Paragraphs are marked by smaller champie initials in gold (height: 2 lines) against blue and red grounds. Decorative line-fillers in red, blue and gold.
Evidence of readership:
Foliations description:Late 15th-c. roman numerals in blue ink in the upper right of recto sides. Omission of ff. 445-64 and ff. 550-9. Duplication of ff. 142, 243, 292, 358, 580, and 582.
