Provenance

DescriptionThe final section of the Histoire ancienne breaks off abruptly after only a few chapters mid column; this is followed by a blank page, then the table for Li Faits des Romains, followed by the text. This would indicate that the scribe's source had the final section of the Histoire ancienne, rather than Li Faits des Romains, and either made an error in starting to copy the final section, or started in good faith but then thought better of including the final section, either because he compared his initial source with another, or because the intention from the start had been to include Li Faits des Romains, but a scribe had carried on working on the Histoire ancienne in error.
