Material

Watermark: | |
Condition: | Good quality vellum, in fair condition. Some stains (e.g. ff. 75v, 130v-131r, 122v), holes (e.g. ff. 96, 116, 146 184), stitches (e.g. ff. 122v, 125r, 129; 133r, 133v, 134r, 137r), tears (ff. 240). The upper right corner of f. 242 is torn causing text loss. |
Structure
Collation: | 19 (ff. 1-9; 1 folio wanting in the first half of the quire) 2-810 (ff. 10- 79) 98 (ff. 80-87) 10-1810 (ff. 88-177) 199 (ff. 178-186; one folio wanting in the second half of the quire) 20-2210 (ff. 187-216) 23-25 (ff. 217-248; collation difficult to ascertain) 26-2710 (ff. 249-268) 286 (ff. 269-274) |
Quire structure: | Mostly quinions except for the first quire (ff. 1-9), in which one folio is lost, quire 9 (ff. 80-87) which is a quaternion, quire 19, in which one folio is wanting and the final quire (ff. 269-274) which is a ternion. The quire structure of ff. 217 to 248 (quires 23-25, quiremark only on the last folio of quire 25) is hard to establish, but given that there are 32 folios, at least one of these quires must be a senion. The quiremarks roman numerald centered in the bottom margin of the verso of the final folio of the quire are later additions (14th-15th c.), suggesting that the manuscript was rebound at that time. |
