General description: | 28.5 cm (height) x 21 cm (width)
Bound in Bordeaux Moroccan calf leather (ca. 1830 according to the PM’s notes) by P. Dufey.
Tooled cover and backboard with 5 parallel straight lines around the outer edge (extending from 1 cm to 2.7 cm from the outer edge). Tooled squares ( 8 mm on each side) sit in each corner, back and front with three short parallel lines on two sides. This gives the binding a geometric appearance.
Light green and black marbled paper line the inner and outer cover and form one side of the first flyleaf.

the extreme left upper edge of the page is floriated in red, blue, green and gold, containing images of vines, leaves, acorns, and buds and this extends down the left hand margin for roughly the same distance, forming a sort of cornice (1.8 cm deep x 8.2 cm in length on the top; 1.5 cm x 10.2 cm running down the left hand margin).
Large blue illuminated initial C begins the text (3.8 cm x 3.8 cm). The golden C sits upon his background and within its round central section there are 3 golden keys. In this area, the blue background sits atop a pink further background.
