Physical description

No. of illustrations:1
General illustration:A single miniature (height: 16 lines) at the opening of the text on f. 1ra, depicting Solomon (or the author?) writing and in a red robe, against a gold ground.
General decoration:One large illuminated initial (height: 10 lines) at the opening of the text on f. 1ra, in red, pink, blue and gold, extending to form a partial border. Major divisions of the text are marked by large painted initials (height: 10 lines) in orange, red, pink, blue, green, and black, with white filigree, with floral or foliate infill. Between ff. 148rb and 149va, and on f. 155 there are smaller painted initials (height: 5 lines). Each chapter opens with a pen-flourished initial (height: 3 lines) in red or blue, with decoration in the opposing colour, sometimes incorporating faces (e.g. f. 5ra). There are also occasional paraphs, alternating red and blue (e.g. ff. 24v-25r).
Evidence of readership:On f. 159r (ruled but otherwise blank), there is a monogram dated 1493 and reading 'STA SVAV / peysyr noryt'. Similarly, in the lower margin of f. 2r, in the same hand: 'STA SVAV'.
Foliations description:Medieval Roman numerals in black ink in the upper right corner of recto sides, running from 'i' to 'clix'.
