Condition: | The folio, especially the verso side, is heavily worn. The fold in the middle might suggesr it was used as cover. Alternatively, the ink of large letters in gothic script may suggest it was used as a guardleaf or pastedown. The ink has faded, corners are ratty and there are several holes in the middle of the folio. |

Physical description
No. of illustrations: | 2 |
General illustration: | Two miniatures at the verso side of the folio (height c. 10 lines). The images are heavily worn. The first image (f. 1va) represents one or several knights on horseback. The second a man in greend dress, addressing a company of women seated at a table. The miniatures are framed in simple red and blue borders. The background was presumably gilt. The characters, in fairly stiff posture, gesture with their hands. Faces are white, haird is curled and folds in the garments are suggested with strokes of black ink. Both miniatures are followed by a pen-decorated initial, but have no captions in red ink. At both occassions the miniatures precede a 'Or dist li contes' formula. |
General decoration: | The text is structured by means of pen-decorated initials (height:2 lines) alternatingly red and blue with flourishings in the contrasting colour. |
Evidence of readership: | Written across the text (between col. a and b) of the verso side in a 17th c. hand 'Rolle de [...]' |
