The manicula here draw attention to the story of Cressida. The same passage is highlighted almost identically in Douce 196. This version of the text recasts the story in a more misogynist light than Benoit. This results partly from a misreading of Benoit, as Jung, 1996, pp. 486-87 points out: 'De cest veir criem g'estre blasmez' (13457), which is first-person, is transposed to 'De cestui crime estoit la Damoisele blesida blasmee'.
